MASVINGO-No nonsense veteran police officer, Assistant Commissioner Florence Marume has been transferred from Masvingo Province to Chitungwiza in the same capacity, The Midweek Watch can reveal.
A memo in our possession says that the transfer of Marume and other senior officers in the ZRP is with immediate effect.
Marume was responsible for operations in Masvingo Province and was very instrumental in the arrest of alleged criminals who were involved in the smuggling of raw lithium from Chinese owned Sinomine Bikita Minerals recently.
The export of raw lithium was banned by President Mnangagwa last year as a way of adding value to the country’s minerals which were only benefiting other countries involved in processing them into finished products.

Officer commanding Mash West Province, Commissioner Conelli Dube who once saved in Masvingo Province for a long time has been transferred to Harare PGHQ as chief security officer.
Marume who saved in Manicaland for a long time before coming to Masvingo upon promotion to her current rank in 2020 will be replaced by Assistant Commissioner Nyahanana. A. who was stationed at PGHQ.
Assistant Commissioner Moyo. O. from PGHQ reserve will be heading to Mash Central responsible for operations.
Chief Superintendent Nyakata. P. has been moved from Chivhu to PGHQ reserve and will be replaced by Chief Superintendent Mahode, H. from Harare PGHQ.
