Blackbird Group walked away 5000rand for their captivating performances on stage.

“The competition was tough and we could not believe that we would walk out number one because the competition was tough. Other groups were equally good at singing, dancing and performances, we just thank God that it was all possible, because of Him ever since we started this group in 2019,” said one of the dancers George Kundai.

On second place was a 23 year old dancehall artist from Nemamwa, Tobias Majaya aka Majesty Mr 43 Mwana Wamai Noma who performed two of his best songs in less than three minutes and stole hearts of the audience and judges had an easy task of awarding him a well deserved prize.

“I am very happy I managed to come pout second in a tightly contested show on the local stage as well as being the best in the singing category which is unbelievable.

“Even today, it came as a shock because even though I was singing very well, everyone else was good enough and I just want to thank God for the gift He gave me which helped me a lot.

“It is now starting to make sense because the talent is now paying off as I managed to win 3333 rand and it is a lot of money to us as ghetto youths and I want to thank Charles Austin Theatre for facilitating this show for us,” said Majaya.

On the third position was 12 year old Bradley Katenjele the son of Pastor Bernard Katenjele from Hillside Extension who showcased hi piano playing skills as a solo artist.

“As a parent I am very excited since it was his first time to compete at that level and he did very well despite the fears of what to expect and we really thank God for this achievement at his age.

“For him to manage to get into a competition especially getting into top three when he just started last year when I started to teach him the basics of playing a piano in church but he has been perfecting and becoming better everyday,” said Pastor Katenjele.
