MUTARE-One of the most sought after motivational speakers in the region, advocate Arthur Marara will grace this year’s Manicaland Megafest Business awards.

This was confirmed by Megafest Holdings public relations manager, Vuyolethu Moyo in an interview with The Midweek Watch recently.

Marara, who is a prominent business speaker, disruptive thinker, law lecturer, best selling author, consultant and an attorney by profession will be the guest of honour at the Manicaland Megafest Business awards ceremony to be held in Mutare on Feruary 24 at the upmarket Golden Peacock Hotel.

The awards ceremony was supposed to be held in 2022 to honour outstanding businesspeople and businesses for 2021, but due to COVID-19 strict measures to contain the spread of the pandemic this was not possible.

“The Manicaland Business awards will be the first for this year where we will be celebrating good business practice, celebrating achievements in the eastern region of our country.

“We will be mainly recognising the courage, leadership and creativity of the eastern region. The most brilliant business brains that play a critical role in the growth and sustainability of enterprises and organisations like our local authorities,” said Mercy Matsika who has just taken over the reins from Dr Tafadzwa Matsika as the chief executive officer of Megafest Holdings.

Megafest Business awards which started some 15 years back have grown from strength to strength to become the biggest and premier awards for business in the country.

Megafest Holdings is now under new leadership with Mercy Matsika replacing Dr Matsika who is now pursuing other business ventures.

She is not new to Megafest Holdings as she was there at its formation and has seen it grow to become the leading marketing and communications company in the country.

The company has appointed an advisory board headed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Raj Mondi as its president.

“In our quest to broaden our horizon, superior corporate governance, in 2022 we appointed an Advisory Board which is well composed and structured with individuals whose business chemistry will enhance our reputation and credibility in the marketplace.

“Through their value driven insights and advice the organization is going to gain new insights taking into cognizance the volatile business environment we are now operating in.

“The Advisory Board’s core responsibility besides providing strategic notions for the company towards attainment of the company’s vision, growth of the organization and fulfillment of goals, is to offer advice, critical thinking and analysis as a feeder group to the management,” said Moyo.

Mondi is deputised by veteran scribe, Susan Makore, the other board members are Zak Hawa, Tanaka Muganyi, prominent agronomist and SeedCo CEO, Ivan ‘Mudhumeni Mukuru’ Craig, former TelOne CEO and business executive, Chipo Mtasa and the Megafest Holdings CEO as the secretary.
