Armed robbers pounce on Kwekwe food outlet

Kwekwe- Six armed robbers pounced on a fast-food outlet at the Mbizo 4 shopping center in Kwekwe, making off with cash and a Mercedes-Benz valued at $10,361.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the armed robbery occurred on June 28, 2025, at approximately 9:55 pm.

The suspects, who were driving an unregistered vehicle, arrived at the Mbizo 4 shopping center armed with an unidentified pistol.

 They ordered everyone present to lie down and held the security guard manning the food outlet at gunpoint while others took money from the till and patrons.

The suspects escaped with cash amounting to $361 and a Mercedes-Benz motor vehicle belonging to one of the patrons.

The stolen vehicle was later found dumped about 300 meters away from the scene.

The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $10,361, with the recovered motor vehicle valued at $10,000.

The Midlands province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko has urged members of the public who may have information leading to the arrest of the suspects to approach their nearest police station.

He added that the police is working round the clock to apprehend the perpetrators.
