MASVINGO-Four armed robbers raided a lodge in Masvingo on Saturday where they got away with cash, cellphones and other valuables.

The cheeky armed robbers reportedly descended on Dreamwoods Lodges in the leafy suburb of Clipsham Masvingo where they got away with cash and valued at US$3 100 according to sources.
Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident but declined to avail more details for fear of jeopardizing on going investigations.
According to well-placed sources, a total of US$1 000 was recovered.
“A receptionist at the lodge was approached by four men who pretended as if they needed overnight accommodation. Whilst attending to the suspects, one of them suddenly pulled out a firearm and threatened the receptionist with death if she did not lead them to the room where there were guests and the bar,” said the source.
According to the sources they force- marched everyone in the bar where they demanded cash and cellphones before proceeding to the rooms. They further demanded cash and valuables before making good their escape.
