Chikomba-Agritex officer responsible for Gutu area, Johnsai Mawire (45) died on spot in a road traffic accident yesterday along Chivhu-Gutu road after he lost control of his service motor bike.
Mawire was going towards Chivhu when he lost control of the motor bike upon approaching the 18 km peg along Chivhu-Gutu road. The motor bike veered off the road to the right and overturned several times before landing on its right side.
Mawire sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot and body was taken to Chivhu general Hospital mortuary for a post mortem.
Mashonaland East Police spokesperson, Inspector Simon Chazovachii confirmed the development and said riders must be extra-cautious when riding.
“I can confirm that we are investigating a road traffic accident where a rider died on spot. We urge riders to be extra cautious when riding and also avoid over speeding,” said Chazovachii.
