HARARE – The Government has acknowledged the declining prices of basic commodities across the country following the implementation of corrective measures after a spike in the prices of basic goods and services around June this year.

Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza reported to Cabinet yesterday that the prices of bread, cooking oil, sugar among other basic commodities have tumbled down with that of staple food, mealie-meal declining by 27%.

“The prices of bread, cooking oil, sugar and mealie-meal, among other basic commodities have tumbled with the price of mealie-meal declining by 27%”, said Nzenza.
