GWERU-Sheasham FC chairman, Reginald Chidawanyika has dispelled rumours that the team is in a crisis following a string of poor results which has seen them occupying 17th position on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with a paltry 11 points out of a possible 36

Chidawanyika said the changes that they are ringing at the Construction Boys were meant to strengthen and boost morale in the technical department.

Sheasham are currently in the relegation zone, second from last with 11 points after loosing to Manica last week

Chidawanyika in an interview yesterday further said the appointment of the assistant coach, Reuben Njavhera was an opportunity to boost the team for a better performance.

Of late there were reports had that the construction boys were circling in on former Chiefs coach Lizwe Sweswe to join the Construction Boys, but Chidawanyika rebuffed those rumours and said nothing like that happened.

“We only appointed an assistant coach Reuben Njavhera last month and the window has opened, so it gives us an opportunity to beef up our defence.

“There is no ultimatum given to our technical team and the only person with that mandate is the chairman as head of committee and if I didn’t give that I would not know who would and why one of our own would do that, no ultimatums were issued to our technical team at all,” Chidawanyika said.

Sheasham captain, Nigel Mupanduki expressed the team’s confidence ahead of their clash against log leaders Ngezi Platinum FC at Bata Stadium.

” The Ngezi game is tough, we are aware of that, but we are ready and well prepared for it and we expect to collect maximum points at home although we have injury worries here and there,” said Mupanduki.

Meanwhile Sheasham’s assistant coach, Reuben Njavhera said his is excited to be joining the technical team ahead of the Sunday encounter as he expecting an exciting game.
