When Papa JC said that the Minister of Transport Hon Felix Mhona must resign some diehard Zanu PF supporters attacked me. More calls for the resignation of the Minister is evidence of his failure and ineffectiveness in that position.
“1) The Kariba Boat Disaster is evident that the Minister has failed to put monitoring mechanisms on compliance and enforcement policies.”
“2) Our roads are “killer earthquakes.” The public transport are always overloaded but the Minister has failed to stop this. Mushikashika have killed many due to overload and unroadworthy vehicles. The Kariba Boat was aged and it’s maintenance history is doubtful.
3)The railway transport has lost its credibility. The railway crossing signals are rarely functional. This has caused many railway crossing accidents. The railway lines are no longer visible as they were long ago buried by sand.
4)Air transport by very old Air Zimbabwe planes was banned by international regulatory bodies. We had to rent a plane to ply the Harare- London route !”
