Chiadzwa-Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of diesel from the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) in Chiadzwa.

Acting Manicaland province police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that investigations led to the recovery of the stolen fuel and cash.

According to reports, the complainant, Mr Didmus Mudzengerere (56) of ZCDC Chiadzwa, reported a diesel theft case to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Marange on June 3, 2026. It was alleged that approximately 480 litres of diesel had been siphoned from company excavators by unknown suspects. Police attended the scene but no arrests were made and no property was recovered at the time.

On June 7, 2026, the complainant received a tip-off regarding the theft and instructed company security guards to conduct an ambush operation. The operation resulted in the arrest of Solomon Manjokota (47), who had allegedly been tasked with transporting the stolen diesel in his vehicle for sale together with Blessing Madhosi (30).

During questioning, Manjokota reportedly revealed the identities of his accomplices, prompting ZRP Marange to launch a follow-up operation. Police subsequently arrested Remember Dube (45), Dennis Chiadzwa (34), Nyondeni Malunga (28), and Blessing Madhosi (30).

On June 8, 2026, the suspects were taken for indications, during which they allegedly implicated Madhosi as one of the recipients of the stolen diesel. A search conducted at her shop in Mutsago led to the recovery of 400 litres of diesel believed to have been stolen from ZCDC. Investigations into the matter are still in progress.

Chinyoka urged members of the public to refrain from engaging in criminal activities such as theft. He encouraged citizens to promptly report any criminal activities to the police rather than becoming involved or allowing themselves to be implicated in crimes.

Chinyoka said community cooperation with law enforcement is vital in the fight against crime and warned that anyone found participating in illegal activities would face the full wrath of the law.
