The accident involved a white Volvo truck driven by Johannes Matore of Mucheke A, Masvingo and a blue Honda Fit driven by Courage Muningindava (31) of Balmaim, Mashava.

Courage sustained head injuries and was rushed to Masvingo 24-Hour Clinic where he died upon admission.

According to information gathered, Johannes was driving towards Masvingo along the Masvingo–Mbalabala Road with no passengers on board. The now deceased was driving in the opposite direction towards Mbalabala, also alone in the vehicle.
