PENHALONGA-Praymore Masuka (28) of Domborutinhira Village under Chief Mutasa in Penhalonga is battling for his life at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital after he was stabbed by Maud Chinhengo Takaidza (23) who owed him some money.

The incident happened on May 13 at Penhalonga Shops at around 7pm and Maud has since been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

According to Manicaland Province acting ZRP spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, Praymore approached Maud and asked her about his money while at the shops and she said she did not have the money.

Praymore continued to pester her and she went on to pick a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the left side of his chest and he fell down.

Maud ran to Penhalonga ZRP and made a report that she stabbed Praymore in self defence.

Praymore was taken to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital by a well wisher and the police went there and made assessment and changed the charge from assault to attempted murder due to severity of the wound.

Maud was subsequently arrested and is assisting police with investigations.
