MASVINGO-Roman Catholic Church run Gokomere High School has recorded an impressive 96.03 percent overall pass rate in the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Ordinary Level examinations, from 93 percent achieved in 2024.

A total of 151 candidates sat for the examinations, comprising 75 boys and 76 girls.
Of these, 34 learners emerged as top performers after obtaining five As and above.
The results show that 138 candidates passed five or more subjects including English Language while 90 learners passed five or more subjects including both English Language and Mathematics.
In addition, 85 candidates attained passes in five or more subjects including English, Mathematics and Science reflecting strong performance in core learning areas.
English Language, Geography, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Accounts and Computer Science recorded pass rates close to or at 100 percent.
Only four learners passed two subjects while two learners passed three subjects. No candidate recorded a zero subject pass.
The school head Emmanuel Muvengi expressed satisfaction with the improved performance.
“The learners did extremely well, considering that last year we recorded a 93 percent pass rate. We are grateful to the Responsible Authority for providing an enabling and conducive teaching and learning environment. We also commend our teachers for their hard work and dedication. This achievement was made possible through teamwork,” said Muvengi.
