On March 12 at around 3 pm, two police officers on patrol at Makambe level crossing road in Chikombedzi, Chiredzi encountered two male adults with nine cattle, The Midweek Watch can confirm.
According to Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa the officers asked the suspects to produce cattle documents upon which they fled the scene.
Fortunately, the police were able to recover the cattle and conduct investigations, which led to the arrest of Godknows Chimbudzi (32), on March 14.
Chimbudzi has been remanded in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on March 17, 2025.
Inspector Dhewa emphasized the importance of being vigilant against stock thieves, urging everyone to be on guard.
