A fatal road traffic accident occurred on January 14, 2026, at around 14:20 hours near Mvuma, along the Harare-Masvingo Road. A Nissan AD van and a BMW vehicle collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of four people, including both drivers.
National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to uncover circumstances surrounding the accident.
“The accident happened at the 173 km peg, with the Nissan AD van traveling towards Masvingo and the BMW vehicle heading towards Harare. One victim died on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries at Mvuma District Hospital,” said Nyati.
