3 in-laws knife man to death

Gweru- Three brothers in law were arrested for fatally stabbing and stoning a man from Ruby area in Gweru on June 4, this year, Midlands Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko has confirmed.

 Zamani Ndhlovu (40), Mehluli Ndhlovu (36) and Mpilwenzima Ndhlovu (26) all of Ruby area in Gweru were arrested for allegedly killing their brother-in-law, Proud Ndhlovu after a heated argument over an unknown matter during a beer drinking excursion at a local tuckshop in the evening.

“We appeal to members of the public to desist from resorting to use of violence when resolving disputes to avoid unnecessary loss of lives,” said Mahoko.

Mahoko told The Midweek Watch that on the fateful day, at around 9pm, Ndhlovu was drinking beer with his three in-laws at a local tuckshop when a misunderstanding arose between the victim and one of his in-laws.

The three in laws teamed up and followed the victim on his way home and assaulted him using fists and stoned him with concrete bricks all over the body.

One of the three further produced a knife and stabbed the victim several times before they fled from the scene.

On the same date at about 11pm, a male passerby discovered the victim’s body lying on the ground and made a police report and investigations were conducted leading to the arrest of the three suspects who are now in custody and expected to appear in court.

A home-made knife and concrete bricks used to commit the crime were recovered at the scene.
