3 Chpinge men fatally assault neighbor

CHIPINGE-THREE NEIGHBOURS are in hot soup for fatally assaulting a man for allegedly being a nuisance after he got intoxicated.

On February 23 at around 4pm the deceased Petros Mwanyanya Sithole (40) and the three accused neighbours, Peter Mlambo (45) Charles Makuyana Marehari (55), Thomas Magonda (29) all of Glenlough Farm aka Tsuro were drinking alcohol at Dinah tuckshop in the same area.

Petros had an altercation with the three after he started shouting at them due to intoxication.

Thomas took a stick and started hitting Petros while Charles was holding the deceased’s hands from the back.

Locals intervened to stop the row but Peter went on to kick Petros in the face and he fell down and became unconscious.

Prosper Dinah (22) ferried Petros to his house where he stays alone.

The following day Petros was taken to Chipinge Hospital by Rudo Matiti (36) his relative from the same farm where he was pronounced dead at 1pm.

It took the family two days to make a police report as they were waiting for the deceased’s brother Like Madiro Sithole (34) who is based in South Africa.

The matter was reported at Chipinge Police who went on to arrest Peter and Charles while Thomas is still at large.

Manicaland Province police acting spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said they are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the third accused person, Thomas for murder.
