2 Greenfuel players selected for national duty

Masvingo- Greenfuel FC is beaming with pride as two of its talented young players, Washington Mapuwa and Alvin Antonio, have been selected to represent Zimbabwe at the AFCON U20 Qualifiers COSAFA Tournament.

Fredson Moyo, chairman of Greenfuel FC, expressed his delight at the duo’s selection.

“We are  extremely proud of Washington and Alvin, their hard work and dedication are a testament to our club’s commitment to developing young talent, we are confident they will make a significant impact at the tournament,” said Moyo.

Saul Chaminuka, the club’s coach expressed his joy as well.

“Washington and Alvin have been instrumental in our team’s success, their selection to the national team is a well-deserved recognition of their abilities. We have worked tirelessly to hone their skills, and it is gratifying to see them take the next step,” said Chaminuka.

Greenfuel FC administrator echoed their sentiments.

 “It is my duty to ensure our players compete at the highest level, I have followed their training sessions, and it is clear they are among the best. Washington’s professionalism and Alvin’s passion make them assets to the national team,” added Mvura.

The Administrator said that, Mapuwa, who previously shone at the Four Nations U20 Tournament in Malawi, where he emerged as the top goal scorer with three goals, has once again caught the eye of national team selectors and Antonio, known for his cool and passionate approach to the game, has also earned a well-deserved call-up to the national team.

The AFCON U20 Qualifiers COSAFA Tournament is scheduled to take place in Maputo, Mozambique, from September 24 to October 5.

Green Fuel FC’s commitment to nurturing young talent has paid off, with Mapuwa and Antonio’s selection a testament to the club’s dedication to developing future football stars.
