ZAKA- Two pupils from Dekeza Primary School in Zaka South Constituency were murdered after they were taken from school on Tuesday and their bodies were dumped in a mountain just a few kilometres away from the school.

Area legislator Clemence Chiduwa confirmed the tragedy.
“A dark shadow has been cast over Dekeza Primary School in Ward 29, Zaka District, after two pupils were tragically murdered on January 27, 2026.
“The victims, a boy and a girl, were taken from school by a relative who is now in police custody.
“The suspect allegedly took the children to Gondora mountain where the incident occurred. Authorities are investigating, and support is being provided to the grieving families,” Chiduwa told The Midweek Watch.
When contacted for a comment, Masvingo Province deputy police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu referred this reporter to national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi who was not picking his mobile number until the time of posting the story.
