MASVINO-The Catholic Diocese of Masvingo celebrated a major milestone as 198 nursing students from Silveira and Musiso Schools of Nursing graduated during a combined ceremony held on the 5th of December 2025 at Bethany House.

The graduates were drawn from both Registered General Nurse and Primary Care Nurse programmes marking yet another chapter in the Diocese’s commitment to providing quality healthcare training.
Bishop Raymond Mupandasekwa of the Catholic Diocese of Masvingo reaffirmed the Church’s dedication to its mission in health delivery.
“These institutions are more than just facilities. They embody our calling to serve the sick and vulnerable, reflecting the mercy of Christ in our communities,” he said.
He urged the graduates to carry the torch of compassionate service.

“As you embark on your nursing careers, be prepared to give life where life is lost. Uphold the core values instilled in you.”
In his remarks, Guest of Honour Dr. Kudzai Masinire the Masvingo Province Deputy Medical Director, praised Silveira and Musiso for producing “disciplined, skilled and ethical nurses” over the years.
He encouraged the graduates to be agents of change.
“Masvingo, like many parts of Zimbabwe, still faces healthcare access challenges, especially in rural areas. You are now frontline soldiers in fighting diseases, maternal and infant mortality, and other emerging health threats.”
Dr. Masinire also highlighted government’s commitment through the Second Republic to improve health infrastructure and services via the devolution agenda.
He commended tutors, parents and guardians for their support and dedication to the graduates’ journey.
“To the graduands, wear your uniforms with pride, and serve with integrity, humility and a spirit of continuous learning.”
