The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has recorded a 1.17% increase in the November 2025 Advanced Level examination results achieving an overall pass rate of 95.75% up from 94.58% in 2024.

According to a statement in the possession of The Midweek Watch from ZIMSEC board chairman, Professor Paul Mapfumo a total of 36,635 candidates sat for the November 2025 A Level examinations, compared to 33,585 candidates in 2024.
This represents an increase of 3,050 candidates pointing to growing enrolment at Advanced Level across the country.
The statement further indicates that female candidates outnumbered male candidates with 19,086 females sitting for the examinations against 17,599 males. Performance analysis shows that female candidates outperformed their male counterparts by 2.64%.
ZIMSEC also recorded notable progress in examination performance among persons living with disabilities.
In 2025, 45 candidates with disabilities sat for the A Level examinations and attained a 100% pass rate, an improvement from 40 candidates in 2024 who achieved a 95% pass rate, reflecting a 5% increase.
